Yellow Jack plays traditional and original songs that explore the history of Western New York.

Topics of their “new folk songs” have included the lumber shovers of the Erie Canal, the triple-hanging of the Thayer brothers in Buffalo in 1825, the Underground Railroad, ill-starred Niagara River daredevils, and the destructive march of the British along the Niagara Frontier in the War of 1812.

They also perform traditional fiddle tunes, spirituals, hillbilly, and generally weird and forgotten gems of the last 200 years.
